Ski Hire (ESTC members only) We have a good selection of alpine touring, telemark and nordic ski equipment available for hire to members. We also have safety equipment such as transceivers, probes and shovels which we encourage members to take on the Scottish hills in winter.
Please note: Ski hire is only available to Members of the Club, with the following limited exceptions:
Booking: Our ski hire co-ordinator Brian will handle bookings for the winter season. To book send him a request using the form below. He will email you back a copy of the ski hire form. When this is returned to him, Brian will contact you with a rendezvous time and directions to the garage. If you would like more information on choosing the gear you want to hire, please add comments into your form as appropriate, or telephone the co-ordinator (telephone number is on the membership list).
Charges: UK hire charges are levied on days the skis are used. If the skis are not used on any of the hire days, a single £6 charge will apply.
Where skis are hired by the week for holidays abroad, we would expect members to pay for the week's hire and claim on their insurance in the event of no snow or other events preventing skiing.
These charges are a considerable discount on rates available at hire shops in Scotland or resorts in Europe and America.

A deposit of £85 is required. This will be returned when equipment is returned. Note: if equipment is returned late and a subsequent person is forced to hire elsewhere, the deposit will not be returned.
Note for those who have recently applied for membership: Unless your name is on the most recently circulated membership list then the onus is on you to show current proof of membership at the garage (i.e. a current membership card). Be aware that it can take some time for the Membership Secretary to process your membership (ski trips sometimes get in the way!), so apply in good time if you want to hire with the benefits of being a member.
