Notice of Annual General Meeting
The 2018/19 ESTC Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 4th June in the upstairs room of Ryrie's Bar, Haymarket Terrace, Edinburgh EH12 5EY. It’s the pub on the corner in front of the station - map here. Business will start at 7.30pm prompt.
The AGM is your chance to have a say in how the club is run, and election of the club committee takes place at the AGM. The business part of the evening will be followed by a social event with a buffet supper, starting around 8.30pm. Please aim to arrive before 7.30 so we can start on time.
The Committee is elected every year to help run the club. It consists of three office-bearers (Chair, Secretary and Treasurer) and up to eight other members. Committee roles involve: looking after membership; co-ordinating the meets programme, the social programme and the training programme; managing ski hire; webmaster/IT co-ordinator, and keeping people in touch through E-news. It is also possible for some of these roles to be fulfilled 'off-committee'.
All Committee members are required to retire at the AGM, and all are eligible to stand again, but several – after a number of years of service – wish to step down this year. So the Club needs volunteers to join the Committee in a variety of roles.
If you are interested in standing for the committee, or nominating someone, please contact Ingrid before the meeting. If you can help in any way even if you would prefer not to be on the committee, please let us know as well. Remember - the club runs on the goodwill of its members and their willingness to make a contribution, please consider what you can do to help out.
