Our weekend at Glassie commenced with David and his sous chefs preparing Friday night's traditional Fish Pie. Others rearranged the tables and chairs to squeeze everyone into one room.

Eventually everyone had arrived and we were all seated at the long table waiting eagerly for the main course.

On Saturday some people headed off up the local corbetts, Meall Tairneachan and Farragon Hill, and had a very wet walk!

Others had a more leisurely day walking up the Braes of Aberfeldy.

And watched the waters, swollen by the recent rains, cascading over the waterfalls.

The Chapmans met Robbie Burns on their walk.

Several of us ended up at The Watermill, the excellent bookshop-cum-gallery-and-coffee-shop, on Saturday afternoon to relax on leather sofas and escape the rain.
Back at the hostel, Pauline headed out in the dark to look for hardy cyclists, Barbara and Tiana, who weren't home yet.
Meanwhile David's kitchen of sous chefs were busily making caramelised onion tart for 30!

And our sommelier did his homework...

Hula hooping over (I'm not allowed to show the photos here!), the festivities were about to begin.

After caramelised onion tart, wild mushroom risotto, roast pork, roast potatoes and vegetables galore, and a wonderful cheese board, the feast continued with numerous puddings....

And our "chef gastronomique" chatted over cheese.

Sunday was a quieter day with some folk heading home early and others going for a short walk, once the furniture, cutlery and crockery were correctly reorganised.
Thanks for a great weekend, David!
