Some of the pre-school members of the club took up the chance for a camping weekend at the beach (with backup provided by the relevant parents). Luckily the campsite was well equipped to help them practice their climbing skills for munros when they’re older

– that’s Sophie and Joshua testing them out.
We hit the beach on Saturday afternoon, in quite murky misty conditions, but that didn’t dampen enthusiasm. Joshua flew a kite,

and then we all headed off to North Berwick swimming pool, once we were thoroughly cold and wet. It should be noted that the Finneran family got lost trying to get back to the campsite after the swim, and ended up having tea and cake at the seabird centre.
On Sunday, there was more pea soup mist. However, once again we braved the seashore, and this time built a giant sand castle, assisted by Alison, Rufus, and Julie and Gerry Finneran. Chloe joined us for the day, and brought Chris and Charlotte with her.

Claire bailed off in her sea kayak instead and went to visit some puffins.
Alison and Katrina get the environmental award for catching a train to the campsite, despite being hampered with three-year old legs, a tent, beach gear and a backpack. Impressive!
See you all on the next camping trip!
