Les Menuires, Les Trois Vallees

24-31 January 2009

The A team (sort of). Not sure where Nick was. Probably down some gully. Or being a mogul monkey. Or eating 11 euro soup.

Not our tracks, but let's pretend they were.

Pride comes before a fall Mr Tele-Mogul.

David enjoyed a well deserved fab day after lots of hard work organising the trip and chatting up Le Patron du Chalet and assuring him we wouldn't wreck it. And after surviving a head-on collision with me on the first morning.

Happy

OK, so they're two snowboarders but they made a pretty picture.

We met up with Caroline who was staying in Courchevel and did some big team teleing.

Debs' Himalayan moment.

Aidan leapt out of his skin every time the phone rang. For a very good reason.

The glacier - my favourite run apart from the killer runaway toboggan.

The most improved skier of the week (that's Helen) listens on.

The fall.

Still happy.

Ingrid liked the glacier too. But neither of us liked the chalet's finger-eating fridge door.

The chalet was in a beautiful old village, much prettier than Les Menuires but we had a 20 minute walk to the first lift. A nice warm-up in the morning, but some days it was all too much on the way home and we were forced to stop off at the Friesian pub. In theory there was a bus which stopped once a day on the road above our chalet, but Helen stood and watched the bus sail by so we didn't try again.

Maggie, Peter and Ellie had a separate apartment downstairs.

We were really sorry to leave!
