A great day was had on Saturday 10th December by the 10 ESTC members who heeded the siren call sent out by Lynn. We spent six hours on skis west of the Glenshee ski area bagging a Munro and whizzing down a great descent. Full marks to the route planning committee. Doubtless the first day of another magic season. Snow is now predicted on and off until Christmas. Photo by Lindy.

Whakapapa Ski area in the North Island of New Zealand by Ian.
Ian says: "My wife and I are currently mid way through a round the world trip. Starting in December meant that we missed the Scottish ski season this year but we are now just hitting the Southern hemisphere one! Very good days skiing, though in the morning the freezing wind would rival some of the worst I've felt in Scotland! Unlike most of the time in Scotland though the wind droppped in the afternoon and it became roasting!".

Our aim is to run, over the period of a few years, all the way from Edinburgh to Canterbury along long distance footpaths, camping along the way. We started a couple of years ago and are hoping to get to Canterbury by 2012. We’re nearly half-way now, so ony 400 miles to go!"
