Weather and ski/snow conditions

Winterhighland – conditions reports and weather forecasts for the downhill ski areas, webcams (high and low level at Cairngorm, useful panoramas at Glenshee, Nevis Range and the Lecht), backcountry ski reports, forums (eg snow conditions, winter tyres, which skis? etc).

Mountain Weather Information Service (MWIS) – Mountain Weather Information Service – daily forecasts specific to mountain ranges.

Scottish Avalanche Information Service (SAIS) – avalanche forecasts, reports and statistics. The blogs (bottom right of home page) are really worth following too, photos give a great idea of conditions, and they quite often mention how good (or bad!) conditions are for ski touring.

Road traffic news and travel info

Traffic Scotland – up to date information on road closures and weather warnings. 'Live-eye' webcams are really good for assessing snow around the country once you get the hang of the slightly fiddly controls (sometimes easier if you increase the scale).
