Road conditions

The place to start is:

www.trafficscotland.org

...which now provides a Scotland wide reporting system with access to  web cameras, including the M90 north of the bridge. There is a particularly useful web camera on the A9 near Dromochter for those trips North to beyond Dalwhinnie. This probably has most everything one needs through the one portal. The direct link to the web cams is here.

For Glenshee Tayside Police Provides information on the closure or otherwise of the A93.

Basic road condition reports can still be accessed through the AA and the RAC who also provide route planning services.

Weather and other information.

The Winterhighland site provides access to a range of web cams which may help judge road conditions although there primary function is for walking and climbing. Winterhighland.

You may also want to look at the Weather link, and the best three day walking forecasts from Geoff Monk are the place to start especially if you are not just intending to sit in the car.

Be Prepared.

If conditions are bad, make sure you have a shovel, chains, warm clothes and footwear in the car.
